Mom Tri’s Boathouse Regatta at the Royal Phuket Marina is the latest restaurant from Mom Luang Tridosyuth Devakul, better known as Mom Tri.

Opened in February 2009, the Regatta continues in the tradition of Mom Tri’s Boathouse on Kata Beach, long-known for its fine dining and as the sole recipient in Thailand of the prestigious Wine Spectator Magazine’s ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ since 2006. Mom Tri's Boathouse Regatta offers a delicious 3-course degustation menu on Thursdays and Saturdays. Also on these two evenings, Sioni and Dennis entertain guests with their excellent Bossa Nova music.

The Regatta has a stylishly comfortable, modern interior for superb dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant’s façade is open to afford an uninterrupted view of the many luxurious yachts and to enjoy the light sea breeze.

Chef Jean-Noël Lumineau joined Mom Tri’s Restaurants as a consultant in September 2008. The first Maître-Cuisinier de France working in Thailand, his coveted title indicates chefs of the highest classification; there are only about 300 chefs with this title worldwide. Chef Lumineau became a member of this elite culinary association over 12 years ago. The mission of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France is to maintain and promote the quality and prestige of French cuisine with the added goal of training and nurturing young culinary professionals. The recognition distinguishes Chef Lumineau as belonging to a renowned cultural tradition and as a professional whose technique attains the level of art.

Chef Tummanoon joined The Boathouse in 1988 and in 1994 he became the Boathouse Wine & Grill's Executive Chef. An accomplished Chef of French cuisine, Chef polished his skills regularly during month-long stays in France at several prestigious Châteaux of the noted Grand Etapes Françaises Group. Over the years, numerous appearances as Guest Chef and participation in Thai cooking exhibitions in Asia and Europe made Chef Tummanoon one of the most sought-after Chefs in Thailand. Chef started the Boathouse Cooking Classes in 1994 and very quickly they became very popular, praised by critics in such publications as the Times of London, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

 

In the tradition of the Boathouse, Mom Tri’s Boathouse Regatta has an excellent wine cellar with about 200 labels. Wine Director Georges Ciret has chosen an interesting selection of wines to complement the Regatta’s French Mediterranean menu.
