Southern Phuket's first five-star boutique hotel, Boathouse opened 9th February 1989 on Kata Beach.
It had just 33 rooms, three suites and two pool villas, but quickly established an international reputation thanks to a winning blend of luxurious accommodations, standards of service, excellent wine cellar and relaxed atmosphere.
It also evolved into a notable cultural and social centre, with regular art exhibitions, cultural activities, wine tastings and dinners for connoisseurs.
Appearing on numerous lists of the world's best small hotels it has won many international awards including the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence — the only place in Thailand to win this award in 2006 and years since.
